JewelClub Clears the Coffers

The new year isn't just a good time to make (and break) resolutions. It's open season for clearance sales. And while most bargain shoppers stock up on holiday staples like wrapping paper, tree skirts and tinsel towers - my kind of hunt involves diamonds. Lots and lots of diamonds.

So let's give it up for JewelClub, who once again blows everyone out of the water when it comes to online price busting. This week they're holding their one-time-only New Year's Vault Clearance sale, which is a glittering collection of all their onesie styles at 85-90% off retail.

For the uninitiated, onesies is merch-speak for styles that have only one piece of inventory left on the shelves. So it's not the 'runt of the litter' product. On the contrary, it could be some of the season's best styles. There's just only one left in the coffers so - they slash and burn the price to make room for new stash.

And let's not forget - with jewelry (unlike clothing, handbags and shoes) things like gold hoops, pearl strands, and cocktail rings never go out of style. So you're not stuck buying patterned tights and a ruffle shirt at rock bottom prices that will promptly go in the back of your closet and stay there to rot with the rest of your 'too cheap to pass up' purchases.

I haven't been able to confirm how long this sale lasts, but what I do know is the inventory isn't going to last long. It's rule #1 of a good sale, right? Get in early. Get out quick.

So check out the JewelClub onesie selection and let me know how you make out. And feel free to tweet or comment with any other great jewelry sales I should know about!

Things That Might Make You Give Up On Your Resolutions

  • Stock market plunges; MSNBC blames your resolutions specifically

  • BFF texts you and says your resolutions are “dorky

  • Turns out most of your resolutions defy laws of physics

  • Spill coffee all over your list; what's that say... Quit drumking coffurk... What the hell does that mean?

  • Conspiracy at highest levels of government
  • Didn't want to break your perfect record of resolution failure

  • Confusion about whether or not this is a Leap Year

  • Shouldn't have written resolutions on sand with a stick at the beach

  • Realize that letters of resolution can be rearranged to spell loonies rut

  • Resolution #1: give up on all other resolutions (hey, at least you achieved success with one resolution)

  • You're not feeling very resolutiony

The Beads Predict Your Future for 2011

Some throw the I Ching sticks.  Some turn over Tarot cards.  Some gaze into a crystal ball.  Me?  I consult the beads that have fallen to the floor and, based on their configurations, I predict the future.  Prepare yourself to be dazzled and amazed.  (I'm predicting that, too.)

January

A cold man with a heart of ice will have a meltdown in your yard.

Photobucket

February

You will search for a childhood romance on FaceBook.

Photobucket

March

You will catch a leprechaun.  He will refuse to divulge the location of his pot of gold, but he'll cheerfully sit down and share a pint with you... as long as you're buying.

Photobucket

April

If you celebrate Easter, you will find a special Easter egg.  One that was hidden last year. Wear gloves.

Photobucket

If you celebrate Passover, you will find a special Afikomen.  One that was hidden last year.  Bring the dustpan.

Photobucket

May

If you go a-Maying, you may not return 'til June-ing.  So bring you cell phone and a change of undies.

Photobucket

June

You will receive a gift from someone who sells seashells by the seashore... or sand by the desert... or woodchips by the forest.

Photobucket

July

You will have an explosive encounter with someone from your past.

Photobucket

August

You will travel to a strange land and encounter an animal heretofore unseen by you.  Or you'll take a trip to the zoo.  In either case, wear sunscreen.

Photobucket

September

When autumn leaves start to fall, you'll think wistfully about song lyrics.

Photobucket

October

A voice from the past will haunt you,.  Give him a treat.

Photobucket

November

No matter what the situation, you will become aware of the many things for which you can be thankful.

Photobucket

December

If you celebrate Christmas, you would do well to remember where you hid the gifts you purchased in August.

 Photobucket

If you celebrate Hanukkah, expect an unexpected guest on the third night.

And now that the beads have spoken, they'll roll away once more.

Snooki's Sparkling Party Ball

Hold on to your hair extensions! Snooki is starting a jewelry line.

As if fist-pumping, hippo-charging and spray-tanning weren't enough to populate her glittering resume, Jersey Shore's Princess of Poughkeepsie is adding "bauble designer" to her list of many talents.

DiamondShark.com has partnered with Snooki (nee, Nicole Polizzi) to create the "Snooki Party Ball 2011 Limited Edition Pendant".

The necklace is identical to the one she wore on New Year's Eve when she rode inside a giant ball in Seaside Heights, New Jersey - with a plastic red 'keg cup' as her other glittering accessory. Nice work.

The pendant features a carat's worth of created pink sapphires set in a ball silhouette made from polished and rhodium-plated sterling silver on an 18" chain - and goes for the guidette-friendly price of only $49.

In the sage words of Snooki, herself, she feels we all need one for our own jewelry box because it's: 'frickin' awesome".

But Snookolytes need to act fast - the Party Ball is only available for a limited time here - although rumor has it this is just the first of a larger collection of smushy Snooki sparkle.

Welcome to 2011, jewelry hounds.

Welcome to New Jack City

If you’re new to these parts, Jack Sh*t, Gettin’ Fit is a portal where you’ll find fantastic healthy recipes, trainer-approved workout plans and inspirational messages to help you on your healthy living journey.

Nah, I’m just yanking your chain… it’s more likely you’ll find kooky lists, dumb weight-loss song parodies and me dancing and prancing and doing anything and everything I can to help lighten the mood while we’re all lightening, rightening and tightening ourselves.

If you’re not happy with who’s staring back at you in the mirror or what number your miserable b*tch of a scale is flashing up a you, believe me when I say that I know where you’re coming from.

But also trust me when I say that it’s not a lost cause, that you can actually make lasting, positive change in your lifestyle and your life.

And believe me when I say this: if you think losing weight is impossible, well… you don’t know Jack Sh*t.

I’ve lost 75 or so pounds over the past year and a half, and I still consider myself a work in progress. I’m proud of what I’ve managed to accomplish, but I have miles to go before I sleep…

When I’m not acting a fool up in here, I’ll be sharing tales from my own personal weight-loss and healthy living safari. And with my “Bodfather” series, I’ll be chronicling the tales of others who are losing like crazy. I even hope to share some more W.I.D.T.H. (“Why I Do This Here”) posts with you, as readers send in their photos sharing why they’re on this health-and-wellness kick.

If you’re here today, chances are you want to better your life and better yourself. I may not be the one who can provide the tools to help you make that happen, but I can tell you that I’ll be there every step of the way with you. What you’re going through, I’m going through.

Me and you. Let’s do this thang!
