Beltane: Fertility, Frolic, and Fire

A little bracelet, a little poetry, and little gemstonery for Beltane...

Beltane, the last of the three spring fertility festivals, is celebrated approximately halfway between Vernal (spring) equinox and the midsummer (Summer Solstice).  In  ancient times,  Beltane marked the arrival of summer, when the Pleiades star cluster rises just before sunrise on the morning horizon.

Beltane, and its counterpart Samhain, divide the year into its two primary seasons: winter (Dark Part) and summer (Light Part).  Just as As Samhain honors Death, Beltane honors Life. At last the sun is fully released from winter's bondage and can rule over summer and life once again.

Amid all the dancing and carousing comes much pre-marital and extra-marital couplings, resulting in many "merrybegots."

Thus, the bracelet is jammed with May flowers and gemstones.

Rhyolite to give us support in times of change.
Ruby zoisite to enhance the body's energy field
Amazonite to enhance love
Aventurine for new adventures
Nephrite to strengthen vital forces
Malachite to bring harmony
Turquoise for protection from outside sources
Jasper for grounding

And a little e.e. cummings for the occasion:

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any--lifted from the no
of all nothing--human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
